Brian Osborne has been organizing and participating in music performances throughout the US and in Europe for over 15 years. Currently Brian's most active projects include George Steeltoe Ensemble, Sharks with Wings, and the Dan Peck Trio; with Blastocyst, Paper Legs, and DOSDEDOS performing less frequently. Brian collaborates frequently in a variety settings, having played with Andrew Barker, Tom Blancarte, Matthew Burtner, Daniel Carter, Ed Chang, Peter Evans, Bruce Eisenbeil, Frode Gjerstad, Christoph Irmer, KatsuYuki Itakura, Michael Thomas Jackson, Oliver Lake, Sabir Mateen, Joe McPhee, Seth Misterka, Matt Motel, Elisa Osborne, Kevin Shea, Tamio Shiraishi, Jeffrey Shurdut, Blaise Siwula, Charles Waters, Ge-Suk Yeo; as well as with members of Reverse Mouth, Slasher Risk, Hair Police, Wretched Worst, Sightings, and Mouthus. Brian has a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from the North Carolina School of the Arts, has studied for years under Milford Graves, and performed Javanese Gamelan Music. Brian started the Heat Retention Records label in 2003.
