SPOOL ENSEMBLE
Aaron Bachelder, Michael Thomas Jackson
SPOOL was formed in 1996 by three music students
at The North Carolina School Of The Arts : Aaron
Bachelder, Michael Thomas Jackson and Joel Lambdin. The sole aim of the
group was to explore free
improvisation as a means of creating new music. In the ensuing years,
Spool has collaborated with the Chimera Physical Theater, participated
in The American Festival Of Microtonal Music, given a work-
shop at The Governor's School of North Carolina, and performed and recorded
extensively. Spool
consists of the core members Aaron Bachelder & Michael Thomas Jackson.
Past & present collaborators include Joel Lambdin, Speight Rhue, Bob
Holub, Coa Schwab, Brian Osborne, Eugene Chadbourne, Adrian Dimond, Matt
Smith and Lathan Hardy.
